This position is responsible for non-supervisory professional legal work, including but not limited to: advising the Board’s Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) Officer, which may include interviewing witnesses, reviewing written documentation, reviewing/editing summary reports, and making recommendations advising Chief Counsel and Deputy Chief Counsel on proposed personnel actions, including hiring, promotions and reclassification, and disciplinary actions involving demotions and terminations acting as counsel for unemployment compensation matters and civil service matters, including representing the Board before unemployment compensation referees, the Unemployment Compensation Board of Review, and the State Civil Service Commission acting as counsel in employee-related appeals in the Commonwealth Court and the Supreme Court acting as counsel in matters before the Pennsylvania Human Relations Commission (PHRC) and the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) advising the Board, Chief Counsel, and Deputy Chief Counsel on personnel matters, including but not limited to United States Department of Labor matters, requests for accommodations under the Americans with Disabilities Acts and similar legislation and performing other related duties.
